About the position

The Human Resources & Finance Specialist at Boys & Girls Clubs of Lower Bergen County Inc. is responsible for overseeing human resources management and supporting financial/accounting management within the organization. This role involves providing executive support to the Finance Director and/or CEO, managing personnel services, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing policies that align with the organization's mission. The specialist will also play a key role in strategic planning, resource management, fiscal management, bookkeeping, payroll, and human resources operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead human resources management and systems.
• Support financial/accounting management in the administrative office.
• Provide executive support to the Finance Director and/or CEO.
• Establish and implement policies and procedures for effective personnel management.
• Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and background checks.
• Manage volunteer systems including recruitment and onboarding.
• Assist in maintaining grant documents and reports.
• Participate in the development of the organizational strategic plan.
• Control expenditures against budget in recruitment and staff development areas.
• Assist in day-to-day accounting processes and track expenditures against budget.
• Manage payroll and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years or more in administrative work, finance/accounting, and human resources.
• Strong project management skills and ability to absorb new information rapidly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and G-Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Non-profit experience or experience in a growth-mode organization.
• Valid Certified Notary Public license.
