About the position

Guardian Roofing, Gutters & Insulation is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our rapid expansion. This full-time position is based in Auburn, WA, and will involve working closely with our leadership team to ensure that all routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department are effectively managed. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in updating processes to enhance efficiency and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. This position requires a proactive individual who can maintain compliance, create learning and development programs, and provide support and guidance to management and staff on complex HR issues. The HR Generalist will oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring that all actions are in accordance with company policy. This role also involves maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Additionally, the HR Generalist will assist with workers' compensation claims and handle employee discipline and termination processes. The position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong organizational and analytical abilities. The ideal candidate will act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality while being proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar Human Resources role
  • Expertise in HR policies and procedures
  • Understanding of HR best practices as well as local, state and federal regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
