About the position

The Human Resource Generalist is both a strategic and tactical hands-on role through partnering with the Plant Leadership and employees on day-to-day HR guidance and support to help develop and deliver the people strategy and business solutions. The HR Generalist will provide leadership in creating a high-performance culture that emphasizes employee engagement, quality, safety, and effective continuous improvement implementation to drive a highly productive workforce. Along with implementing policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, this role will have lead responsibility for employee relations as well as other high-performance initiatives to deliver transformation and ongoing continuous improvement to our work practices and team leader leadership capabilities. In this position, the HR Generalist will be responsible for various timekeeping expectations, including meeting and greeting all new and active team members, ensuring new hires understand protocols and processes, and tracking absenteeism and tardiness to support compliance with attendance policy and disciplinary actions. The role also involves ensuring that daily absent reports are sent out, inputting all call-ins into the system, and following up with managers to input missing punches from the previous day. The HR Generalist will also assist with incidents or accidents and ensure that all FMLA and Workers' Compensation records are kept updated on timesheets. From a human resources perspective, the HR Generalist will collaborate with the management team to ensure HR policies are executed in a timely manner, assist with annual employee performance reviews, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. This role will also help coordinate benefits enrollments, support safety programs, and answer all questions and concerns from employees. Additionally, the HR Generalist will assist in coordinating company parties and other employee engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Meets and greets all new and active team members.
  • Ensures new hires understand protocols and processes before sending them to the assigned department.
  • Ensures new hires profiles and timesheets are reflecting correct department.
  • Completes biometrics for all new hires and ensures actives are working properly.
  • Tracks absenteeism and tardiness to support compliance with attendance policy and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures daily absent reports are sent out daily (including Saturdays).
  • Inputs all call-ins into UKG daily and follows up with managers to input missing punches from the previous day.
  • Ensures schedules are correct and employees are adhering to schedules, adjusting when necessary based on manager approvals.
  • Tracks daily attendance towards perfect attendance bonuses.
  • Tracks time off requests and notes in UKG.
  • Uploads all disciplinaries and training to profiles in UKG.
  • Assists with incidents or accidents and ensures all FMLA, Workers' comp, etc. are kept updated on timesheets.
  • Reviews preliminary reports for timesheets when payroll processing for accuracy.
  • Collaborates with the management team to ensure HR policies are executed in a timely manner.
  • Assists with annual employee performance reviews for annual compensation increases.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Helps coordinate benefits enrollments and supports safety programs and initiatives.
  • Answers all questions and concerns from employees and helps coordinate company parties.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
  • Proven working experience as HR Generalist.
  • Strong knowledge in payroll processes and timekeeping.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and safety regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in program development.
