About the position

The HR Generalist at Sephora's Distribution Center plays a crucial role in providing on-site leadership and partnership to management and employees. This position is responsible for delivering a wide range of strategic and tactical HR support and programs that align with the Supply Chain business initiatives. The HR Generalist will manage or provide consultative services throughout the entire employee life-cycle, from recruitment to off-boarding. This includes engaging with employee relations matters to ensure fair treatment, competitive wages, benefits, and sound working conditions for all employees. The HR Generalist is a champion for Sephora's principles-based culture and core values, driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. In this role, the HR Generalist will act as a resource for business partners, ensuring open communication and consistent interpretation of company policies and procedures. They will maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment laws. The HR Generalist will also drive engagement efforts to create and maintain a positive work environment, assist in performance evaluations, and provide coaching and counseling to employees to resolve performance issues. Additionally, they will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborating with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for open positions. The HR Generalist will consistently monitor HR data to enhance distribution center performance and will perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance and talent management, succession planning, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development. Compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations is essential, and the HR Generalist will review policies and practices to maintain this compliance. Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site leadership and partnership to management and employees at the Distribution Center.
  • Manage the full spectrum of the employee life-cycle from recruitment to off-boarding.
  • Engage and manage employee relations matters to ensure fair treatment and competitive wages.
  • Act as a resource for business partners regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Drive engagement efforts to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Assist in the performance evaluation program and provide feedback to business partners.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Monitor HR data to drive distribution center performance.
  • Administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of related human resources experience, preferably in a distribution center or manufacturing plant.
  • HR certification strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to effectively give and receive feedback in a professional manner.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and application of HRIS systems (e.g., Dayforce, Success Factors, Eightfold).
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills, particularly in MS Excel.
