About the position

The Human Resources Generalist - Employee Relations at Ashley Furniture Industries plays a vital role in fostering positive employee relations and aligning HR strategies with corporate objectives. This on-site position focuses on addressing employee relations matters, cultivating a healthy work environment, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted partner to employees and management, providing guidance on performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to address and resolve employee relations concerns such as performance issues, behavioral conflicts, and policy violations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into grievances, harassment claims, and other employee concerns, providing recommendations for actions and collaborating with supervisors and HR leadership as needed.
  • Support managers and supervisors in navigating difficult employee relations situations, including coaching for performance improvement and managing conflict within teams.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), ensuring clear expectations and consistent follow-up.
  • Work collaboratively with management to address employee issues in a fair, respectful, and legally compliant manner.
  • Facilitate employee feedback sessions and work with management to implement initiatives that improve employee morale and engagement.
  • Conduct training sessions on key topics related to employee relations, including company policies, harassment prevention, conflict resolution, and leadership development.
  • Conduct exit interviews, gather feedback, and assist with the transition process for employees leaving the organization.
  • Serve as a resource for employees, answering questions related to benefits, workplace concerns, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in company-sponsored events and activities aimed at strengthening team morale and fostering a positive organizational culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of Human Resources experience, with a strong focus on employee relations.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
