About the position

The Human Resources Generalist position at North Shore Medical Center involves providing comprehensive support to the Hospital and Human Resources Department. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Hospital and Human Resources Department in all functions including FMLA, pre-employment testing, and background checks.
  • Complete new hire paperwork and initiate new hire folders.
  • Ensure the status of agency personnel and back up the hospital recruiter as required.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, department directors, and visitors according to hospital policy.
  • Answer telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, providing assistance or explaining procedures as appropriate.
  • Promote a harmonious work environment by working collaboratively with supervisors, managers, and other department members.
  • Identify areas for improvement in customer service and recommend solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-2 years' experience in an office management setting.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and success.
  • Great phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 2 years of Human Resources experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of HR practices.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
