About the position

The Human Resources Generalist (Factory) at Nestlé USA plays a crucial role in supporting the HR Manager by providing a wide range of expert services tailored to the unique needs of a manufacturing environment. This position is primarily focused on recruitment and succession planning, employee development and training, labor-management relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and policies. The HR Generalist will work on-site five days a week, predominantly during the first shift, but must also be flexible to support second and third shifts as needed. Key responsibilities include executing the HR strategy to attract, develop, recognize, and retain employees, which is essential for meeting the organization's strategic business needs. The HR Generalist will support Nestlé initiatives, such as the Management and Leadership Principles, while also managing workforce planning processes, including talent development and organizational change management. A significant aspect of this role is to ensure that the workplace culture is open, empowering, fair, and equitable. In terms of recruitment, the HR Generalist will be responsible for staffing both salaried and hourly positions, ensuring alignment with the site's staffing strategy. This includes collaborating with talent management teams, processing new hires, and implementing diversity recruitment strategies. The role also involves performance and talent management, where the HR Generalist will utilize various management systems to drive company goals through objective setting and performance calibration. Additionally, the HR Generalist will serve as a liaison between employees and site leadership, fostering an environment of open communication and providing coaching as needed. Compliance is another critical area of focus, where the HR Generalist will support safety initiatives and ensure adherence to employment laws through audits and investigations. Overall, this position is integral to maintaining a productive and compliant workplace within the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in execution of the Nestlé People Strategy processes that attract, develop, recognize, and retain employees.
  • Support Nestlé initiatives such as the Management and Leadership Principles while executing workforce planning processes.
  • Manage special projects in workforce management, strategic planning, and people data reports.
  • Responsible for salaried and hourly staffing through onboarding and retention of talent.
  • Collaborate with talent management teams in recruitment and new hire processing.
  • Utilize performance and talent management systems to drive achievement of company goals.
  • Serve as liaison between employees and site leadership to promote open communication.
  • Conduct investigations and document findings as required.
  • Support a holistic safety focus by driving people-related safety goals.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with employment laws.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's (BA or BS) in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional level Human Resources role.
  • Human Resources experience in a Manufacturing Plant or Distribution Center is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Federal/State employment laws (e.g., EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA).
  • Experience in Classification & Compensation, Benefits Administration, and Recruitment.
  • Project Management experience, such as conducting wage surveys or revising handbook policies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems, preferably PeopleSoft or SAP.
