About the position

The HR Generalist at Piping Rock in Farmingdale, NY, is responsible for providing direct support to the Human Resource Business Partner and associates within a 24/5 manufacturing facility. This role involves face-to-face interaction with employees, problem-solving, and supporting various HR functions. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, capable of managing multiple priorities, and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct HR support to a 24/5 manufacturing facility, which sometimes requires non-business hours.
• Conduct New Hire Orientation.
• Support policy administration.
• Assist with on-site training such as anti-harassment and benefit education.
• Serve as the first point of contact at the facility to assist associates with needs such as benefit-related questions, accessing HR systems, and understanding policies.
• Assist with Associate engagement activities.
• Assist in the disciplinary process.
• Participate in HR department projects, administrative duties, and other responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.
• Effective oral and written abilities; ability to conduct a professional presentation for varying sized groups.
• 2+ years of general HR experience.
• 2+ years of working with an HRIS.
• High level of detail and organization with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Must be tech-savvy with a willingness to learn any technical equipment or systems.
• Flexibility to travel to other locations on Long Island (Ronkonkoma/Bohemia).
• Ability to occasionally travel out of state/overnight a plus.
• Flexibility to work off hours.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
