About the position

The Human Resources Generalist position offers a unique opportunity to engage with employees across all levels of the organization, from management to non-management. This role is pivotal in providing support and coaching on various HR practices and processes, ensuring that employees are well-informed and equipped to navigate their responsibilities effectively. Utilizing conflict resolution techniques, the HR Generalist will play a crucial role in fostering team cohesion and a positive work environment. In addition to employee support, the HR Generalist will ensure compliance with state and federal HR regulations and applicable employment laws. This includes updating policies and procedures as necessary to align with legal requirements. The role also involves supporting the recruitment process, preparing necessary paperwork, and coordinating schedules to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires. The HR Generalist will work closely with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience for new employees. The position requires the HR Generalist to facilitate the performance review process, providing guidance, tools, and training for both managers and employees. Maintaining up-to-date personnel information and files is essential, as is the ability to escalate personnel-related issues when necessary. The HR Generalist will also manage workers' compensation claims and process bi-monthly payroll through a third-party payroll service. Participation in the Company Safety Committee is another key responsibility, ensuring that workplace safety standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and coaching to employees at all levels on HR practices and processes.
  • Utilize conflict resolution techniques to ensure team cohesion.
  • Ensure legal compliance with HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.
  • Update policies and procedures as required to maintain compliance.
  • Support the recruitment process and prepare paperwork and schedules for new-hire onboarding.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience for new hires.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and WPFML.
  • Facilitate the scheduled performance review process, providing guidance, tools, and training for managers and employees.
  • Maintain up-to-date personnel information and files.
  • Escalate personnel-related issues as necessary.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims.
  • Process bi-monthly payroll via a third-party payroll service.
  • Participate in the Company Safety Committee.

Requirements

  • Bilingual - English & Spanish required.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Training and development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Proficient in HR software and technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required, OR 5-8 years of progressive HR experience.
  • SHRM-CP required.
