About the position

The Human Resources Generalist I at Members First Credit Union plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission of fostering a positive employee experience. This position involves assisting employees with benefits, coordinating payroll, and managing documentation, all while promoting a culture of belonging and opportunity. The role is designed to empower employees and contribute to the overall success of the credit union.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary payroll coordinator and manage information in UKG with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with administering benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, FSA, FMLA, COBRA, and 401(k).
  • Provide support for the benefit enrollment process and respond to employee questions.
  • Support the HR team with software implementations, updates, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist leaders with employee relations documentation, coaching, and progressive discipline.
  • Manage employee documentation and ensure compliance with record retention schedules.
  • Respond to general employee inquiries and HR help requests.
  • Travel between branches/offices as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree or better.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of similar or related HR experience, with HRIS experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, handle sensitive matters with discretion, and deliver accurate work results.
