About the position

The Human Resources Generalist II position serves as the primary support for TEAMS recruitment, payroll, and credentialing processes within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida. This role involves managing various HR functions, including compliance tracking, FMLA administration, and employee changes, while also providing advisory support to department leadership. The HR Generalist II is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing and acts as a liaison for hospital credentialing, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit exemption requests, PageUp postings, SPI requests, and reclassification requests for TEAMS positions.
  • Handle all paperwork for new TEAMS hires and update, create, and analyze position descriptions.
  • Track and ensure timely completion of the UF Engaged reports for the department.
  • Monitor and track departmental FMLA leave usage and answer employee questions regarding FMLA policy.
  • Coordinate with the Immigration Office for TEAMS foreign hires and prepare paperwork for employee changes.
  • Manage and assign appropriate security roles for all staff as the Department Security Administrator.
  • Serve as the primary resource for the department Director and Assistant Director on TEAMS-related matters.
  • Verify preliminary and final pay lists to ensure all TEAMS employees are paid accurately.
  • Act as the department liaison for hospital credentialing with Shands facilities and manage bi-annual hospital privilege renewals.
  • Monitor and follow up with employees on DEA license renewals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including effective time management and priority setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong initiative, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills.
