About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist II at the University of Florida is responsible for managing personnel processes for the Institute of Collaborative Biomedical Research (ICBR). This role involves initiating accurate and timely personnel transactions in the myUFL system, which includes hiring, promotions, terminations, leave of absence, and job postings for various employee categories such as OPS, student assistants, postdocs, non-tenure track faculty, and both joint appointment tenure track faculty as well as TEAMS and USPS appointments. The HR Generalist acts as a liaison with UF Research, core HR offices, and other departments within the university, ensuring that all HR transactions are monitored and that HR files are maintained accurately. In addition to onboarding and offboarding employees, the HR Generalist is responsible for monitoring the visa status of ICBR employees when applicable and coordinating the Disclosure of Outside Activities. This position requires the implementation of state and university HR policies and procedures, as well as maintaining current information on university policies. The HR Generalist will attend various training workshops and meetings, including the monthly HR Forum, to stay updated on HR practices and policies. The role also involves making recommendations for office policies and advising the Director and Associate/Assistant Directors on the interpretation and application of new or revised rules and policies. The HR Generalist will maintain ICBR's HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and monitor the reporting and approval of time and leave in myUFL, acting as a liaison with the UF Payroll Office to ensure accuracy in leave reports. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will track compliance for employee training, coordinate employee retention efforts, and serve as the Effort Coordinator for ICBR faculty and staff, ensuring timely submission of effort reporting information. Additional responsibilities include coordinating records disposition requests, serving as the Department Security Administrator (DSA), and preparing periodic reports as required. The HR Generalist will also manage security access requests for ICBR employees and visitors, maintain contact information for all staff, and provide backup for various administrative functions as needed. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
