About the position

The Human Resources Generalist II will support the daily functions of the Human Resources department, focusing on leave management, benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and audits. This role requires collaboration with employees and management to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, while also maintaining knowledge of HR trends and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage regulatory leave of absences including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, and others.
  • Engage in the interactive process and assist employees in the full-cycle leave process.
  • Determine employee's leave eligibility and types of leave available.
  • Distribute regulatory paperwork and documentation to employees.
  • Collect and review documentation to substantiate leave requests.
  • Calculate and coordinate employee's state wages with TNDC's wages as applicable.
  • Provide ongoing communication with employees and managers during the leave process.
  • Manage regulatory reasonable accommodations programs and engage in the interactive process for accommodations.
  • Educate employees on company-sponsored benefits and assist with enrollment processes.
  • Manage and reconcile monthly benefits invoices and reporting to Payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory compliance filing and reporting for various regulations.
  • Support annual and quarterly audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in HR.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Cantonese (or Mandarin).
  • Experience with Paycom HRIS system.
