The Human Resources Generalist at Ash Grove Cement plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department. This position is responsible for coordinating the implementation of various HR policies, procedures, and programs that directly impact employees. The Generalist will manage multiple functional areas of HR, including full life cycle recruiting for non-exempt positions and summer interns, staffing logistics, onboarding processes, training initiatives, and group events. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing procedures, managing internal communications, and overseeing third-party partners related to hiring and affirmative action reporting. As an ambassador of the company's values, the HR Generalist will effectively communicate and organize administrative functions to ensure a smooth HR operation. In this role, the HR Generalist will promote and adhere to all plant safety guidelines, schedule interviews, orientations, and training sessions, and maintain personnel records. They will assist in creating and maintaining HR forms and documents, answer employee inquiries regarding HR policies, and analyze internal and external HR practices to ensure competitiveness in the market. The Generalist will provide administrative support for training, employee events, and annual meetings, manage meeting schedules, assist with onsite drug testing, and maintain the Ash Grove company store. They will also contribute to internal communications through various channels, ensuring adherence to brand standards. The HR Generalist will be involved in designing and delivering training related to process improvements, change management, and employee engagement. They will maintain personnel files, medical files, I-9, and FMLA files for all terminated employees, ensuring compliance with the records retention policy. Additionally, the Generalist will attend professional and industry association meetings to stay updated on new HR practices and procedures. This position requires a proactive approach to handling multiple priorities and projects while maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
