About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Casey's is responsible for executing a variety of core HR processes, including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, talent development, and retention. This role supports the HR team in Omaha, NE, and involves building effective relationships with supervisors and business partners to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Consults with supervisory personnel to assist with solving problems through human resource and values-based solutions.
  • Responds to team member relations matters, including intake of alleged harassment, discrimination, or retaliation reports.
  • Recommends and assists with the development and presentation of educational materials and training.
  • Acts as a liaison to identify opportunities in processes, procedures, and compliance matters.
  • Analyzes workforce data, including turnover and team member survey reporting, and presents recommendations.
  • May assist in resolving payroll questions, benefit questions, and non-routine verifications of employment.
  • May coordinate on-site team member campaigns regarding wellness and volunteerism programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work-related experience.
  • At least three years of progressive experience in multiple areas of human resources.
  • Basic knowledge of civil rights, equal opportunity, and other employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of best practices for human resources.
  • Familiarity with the Family Medical Leave Act and other leave policies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • High sensitivity to confidentiality and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to handle situations with discretion and good judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail and analytical reasoning.
  • Valid driver's license and physical ability to drive for job-related travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP.
