The Human Resource Generalist at Martin Marietta is a pivotal role responsible for the administration, coordination, and evaluation of various human resource functions. This position is crucial in attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining employees across multiple locations within the Kansas City area, specifically based out of the Overland Park, Kansas office. The HR Generalist will lead the hourly staffing and onboarding processes, ensuring that the business maintains a competent workforce to meet customer expectations. In addition to staffing, the HR Generalist will support the human resources department by conducting investigations related to employee relations issues and hotline calls. This role requires providing guidance to business partners on effective employee relations solutions and supporting labor relations issues and negotiations. The HR Generalist will also participate in developing economic and non-economic strategies and assist with grievances. Compliance with Employment Law is a critical aspect of this role, including adherence to regulations such as Affirmative Action, EEOC, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and NLRA. The HR Generalist will conduct new hire onboarding for both hourly and salaried employees and facilitate the annual merit and gross wage increase processes. They will assist plant leadership with the annual performance planning process for hourly non-exempt employees and review and update hourly job descriptions as necessary. Ensuring compliance with department records and reports is essential, as is participation in administrative staff meetings and seminars. The HR Generalist will also support leadership in providing suggested development planning for employees and conduct assigned human resources training programs. This role is characterized by a high sense of urgency and a drive for results, requiring strong relationship-building skills and ethical conduct. The HR Generalist will perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the human resources function within the organization.
