About the position

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in the Human Resources Department, focusing on various activities that support our mission of providing excellent care to our patients. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for managing employee relations, ensuring HR compliance, enhancing employee engagement, facilitating training programs, and supporting recruitment efforts. This role is essential in maintaining a positive work environment and ensuring that our employees are well-informed and supported in their roles. In this position, the Human Resources Generalist will respond to inquiries from employees and managers regarding policy interpretation and assist with HR priorities, including special projects in areas such as Employee Relations, Recruiting, and Training. The Generalist will also present policy and procedure information during service line meetings and HR Lunch and Learn sessions, ensuring that all staff are aware of and understand the policies that govern their work. The role includes conducting exit interviews, maintaining compliance logs, and processing renewal requests for necessary licenses. The Generalist will work closely with HR Business Partners to review documented coaching and corrective actions, ensuring adherence to policies and consistency in practice. Additionally, the Generalist will take a lead role in the Work from Home initiative, supporting both in-state and out-of-state employees. This position requires a proactive approach to managing employee relations and compliance, making it a vital part of our HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to general questions from employees and managers related to policy interpretation.
  • Assists with HR priorities, including special projects, in Employee Relations, Recruiting, Training or other HR support area as needed.
  • Assists in presenting policy/procedure related information to employees and managers through service line meetings and HR Lunch and Learn sessions.
  • Reviews documented Coaching and Level 1 Corrective Action, in partnership with assigned HR Business Partner, to ensure adherence to policy and consistency of practice.
  • Takes a lead role in the Work from Home initiative, both in-state and out-of-state.
  • Conducts exit interviews and tracks exit interview data.
  • Maintains EEO-1 data and provides reporting updates on an annual basis.
  • Maintains various logs such as Child Abuse/FBI and Auto Declaration/Licenses to assure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Processes renewal requests on a monthly basis.
  • Notifies employees of necessary licensure renewals and works with managers on action plans to address non-compliance, including removing the employee from the schedule.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration or Psychology discipline in Human Resources field required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Psychology discipline in Human Resources field preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in related Human Resources field required.
  • Human Resources Certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in understanding and supporting the team concept, active listening, problem solving and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Past experience with an HRIS System preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
