About the position

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the local HR team for assigned locations or functional areas. This position is responsible for the administration of employee records, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and providing guidance on HR policies to employees. The HR Generalist is involved in the day-to-day management of all employees, supporting HR compliance initiatives to mitigate legal risks and ensuring adherence to legal standards. In this role, the HR Generalist will administer and execute various HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leaves, disciplinary matters, investigations, performance and talent management, recognition, engagement, health and safety, and HR training. The position requires developing and maintaining partnerships with employees at all levels of the organization, from frontline staff to senior management, depending on the assigned location(s). The HR Generalist will also provide cross-functional HR support for multiple departments, resolving basic to complex problems by leveraging HR knowledge and employee partnerships. They will engage in HR Workstream projects, community outreach, and employee engagement initiatives. Participation in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, investigations, and exit interviews is also part of the responsibilities. Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations is essential, as is staying current with HR trends and best practices. Additionally, the HR Generalist will support employees represented by a union, if applicable, and maintain an understanding of any collective bargaining agreements. Other projects or duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and multifaceted role within the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, or HS Diploma/GED with 6 plus years of Human Resources experience.
  • 3 plus years of Human Resources experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and sense of urgency.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Positive and professional mindset with the ability to demonstrate trust, confidentiality, and good judgment.

  • Proficient with HR Information Systems, Timekeeping Systems, and Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., UltiPro, iCIMS, Kronos).
