The DuPage County Health Department is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join its HR team at the Central Public Health Center in Wheaton, Illinois. This position is currently a hybrid role, allowing for both remote and onsite work. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. In this role, the Human Resources Generalist will provide professional HR support primarily in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and payroll. Responsibilities will include full-cycle recruitment for assigned client departments utilizing online applicant tracking and onboarding systems. The Generalist will also deliver training programs related to policies, workplace conduct, supervisory skill development, and new employee orientation. The ideal candidate should be comfortable conducting training in both virtual and in-person formats. Additionally, the Generalist will coach supervisors in managing employee relations matters and, if necessary, conduct confidential investigations into employee concerns, assisting supervisors in preparing related documentation. The selected candidate will be responsible for researching and making recommendations for the development or revision of human resources policies, programs, and training. They will lead processes related to job evaluation and team or service reorganization requests, maintain accurate and thorough records, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as organizational policies. Coaching for performance and development will be conducted directly with staff and through the use of an online appraisal system.
