About the position

As a Human Resources Generalist at Novolex, you will play a crucial role in supporting our HR functions and ensuring the smooth operation of our human resources processes. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately reconciling Kronos time sheets and preparing them for weekly payroll processing. You will assist employees with day-to-day inquiries related to HR matters, ensuring that they receive timely and accurate information. Additionally, you will monitor and oversee all recruitment-related activities, which encompass posting and communicating open positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and updating job descriptions as necessary. You will also be responsible for conducting orientation and managing the onboarding process for newly hired employees, ensuring they have a positive start to their journey with Novolex. Performing exit interviews will be part of your duties, allowing you to gather valuable feedback from departing employees. In addition, you will assist with conducting workplace investigations and provide employee relations counseling as needed. Your role will also involve assisting with the annual performance review process and conducting weekly staff review and retention meetings with plant leadership. Administrative duties will be a significant part of your responsibilities, including handling employment verification requests, processing unemployment claims, tracking and maintaining attendance and vacation schedules, processing employee benefits paperwork, and maintaining employee personnel files. You will ensure legal compliance with regulations such as ADA, EEO, FMLA, and FLSA. Furthermore, you will partner with the senior HR manager and plant leadership to develop and implement retention, training and development, and compliance initiatives that align with our organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately reconcile Kronos time sheets and prepare for weekly payroll processing.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of human resources experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Resources, or a combination of education and work-related experience required.
  • Experience with Kronos, ADP or similar HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build lasting productive business relationships with hourly employees, management, and peers.
  • High degree of professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
