About the position

The Human Resources Specialist/Generalist at Trillium Professional is a pivotal role that focuses on enhancing the Employee Experience through various HR functions. This position is designed for a professional who can work closely with the General Affairs and Human Resource Senior Manager to support the entire human resource function. The primary responsibilities include creating onboarding approaches that positively impact engagement from the start of the employment journey, promoting positive employee relations through surveys, round-table discussions, and recognition programs, and supporting business performance by influencing employment strategies and decision-making. The role also involves providing objective guidance to managers and employees regarding the interpretation and application of company policies, programs, and relevant laws. The HR Specialist will design communication strategies that give employees a voice within the organization, review and enhance the employer brand, and measure employee feedback to develop proactive recommendations. Additionally, the position requires advocating for the resolution of employee issues, overseeing training and development programs, and managing the onboarding and training plans for new hires to ensure they are prepared for their roles. The HR Specialist will also evaluate the quality of training courses, manage record-keeping for required training, and work with the Leadership Team to identify training gaps. Utilizing HRIS systems, including applicant tracking and onboarding systems, is essential for this role, as is the ability to create reports to support business needs and compliance requirements. The position also includes assisting in interviewing candidates, applying HR policies consistently, and performing miscellaneous administrative duties to maintain updated employee records.

Responsibilities

  • Create onboarding approaches that positively impact engagement from the start of the employment journey.
  • Promote positive employee relations through surveys, round-table discussions, employee recognition programs, and local initiatives.
  • Support business performance by influencing employment strategies and decision-making on short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Provide objective and constructive guidance to managers and employees on company policies, programs, and laws.
  • Design communication approaches that give employees a voice in the organization.
  • Review and enhance the employer brand.
  • Measure and analyze employee feedback.
  • Analyze trend data to develop proactive recommendations for continuous improvement of people policies and programs.
  • Advocate for the resolution of employee issues and concerns, including internal investigations and corrective actions.
  • Oversee training and development programs.
  • Develop and deliver new hire onboarding and training plans to ensure preparedness for essential job functions.
  • Work closely with managers and supervisors to understand training needs and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the quality of training courses and implement improvements.
  • Manage record-keeping of required training including HR, Safety, Environmental, and Quality training.
  • Identify training gaps and solutions with the Leadership Team.
  • Utilize HRIS including applicant tracking system and Paycom system.
  • Find opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiencies in HRIS.
  • Create recurring and ad-hoc reports to support business needs and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in interviewing new job candidates.
  • Apply HR policies consistently to mitigate risk and ensure equitable solutions.
  • Backup various functions within GA/HR, including payroll maintenance.
  • Ensure all employee records are maintained and updated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, human resource management, organizational management or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience overseeing employee development and working with HRIS systems.
  • 8+ years of human resources experience with a focus on employee experience improvements at an advanced level.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $75-$83 with a 10% bonus opportunity.
