About the position

The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in the nonprofit organization, responsible for managing daily HR functions and supporting the Vice President of Operations in delivering HR services that align with the organization's strategic goals. This position focuses on enhancing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive work environment while managing recruitment, benefits administration, and professional development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screenings, interviews, offers, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and internal policies.
  • Promote and foster cultural competency within the organization by ensuring HR practices are inclusive and supporting diversity initiatives.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to design, implement, and manage training and development programs aimed at enhancing employee skills and promoting professional growth.
  • Assist in managing employee performance review processes and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and contribute to building a positive workplace culture.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs, ensuring employees are informed and engaged with available resources.
  • Perform day-to-day HR administrative tasks, including maintaining employee records and preparing HR-related reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
