Berry Global, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Warren, OR. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization and contribute to our mission of innovation and sustainability. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt, and hourly divisional personnel, as well as facilitating new-employee orientations. You will assist in evaluating departmental reports, decisions, and results in relation to established goals, and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency. As a primary point of contact for employees, you will address employee relations issues, questions, and concerns, while building strong relationships with staff at all levels of the organization. Additionally, you will manage disability and leave of absence processes, ensuring compliance with FMLA, STD, and LTD regulations, as well as ADA and HIPAA requirements. You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating Human Resource documents in Compliant Pro, ensuring the accuracy of information in our HRIS (Infinium), and maintaining compliance with federal and state employment regulations. Special projects will also be part of your responsibilities, requiring you to clarify project objectives, set timetables, and organize information effectively. This position requires a willingness to travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and hourly divisional personnel; conducts new-employee orientations.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for employees and assists with employee relations issues, questions, and concerns.
  • Builds relationships with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Manages disability and leave of absence processes with employees for FMLA, STD and LTD while ensuring adherence to ADA and HIPAA.
  • Understands Berry's Benefit Plans.
  • Manages and updates Human Resource documents in Compliant Pro.
  • Maintains, updates and ensures accuracy of information in HRIS (Infinium).
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Completes special projects as established by clarifying project objective, setting timetables and developing and organizing information and fulfilling transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration and/or four years of Human Resource related experience.
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated Human Resources/employee relations experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively in one-on-one settings and in large group forums.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities along with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, and accuracy with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, have a strong work ethic, and be self-motivated.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle systems.
  • Familiarity with DOS based systems.
