About the position

ITW Evercoat is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide professional HR support across various stages of the employee life cycle, with a strong focus on recruitment and employee relations. This role is essential in serving as a trusted HR partner and advisor to departmental leaders and employees at all levels within the organization. The position is primarily onsite at the Cincinnati, OH facility and reports directly to the Divisional HR Director. In this role, the HR Generalist will support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, which includes scoping roles, sourcing applicants, interviewing candidates, and ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements. The individual will also provide guidance on daily employee relations issues and investigations, acting as an advisor to line management regarding employment law and company policies. A key responsibility will be to organize and improve the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they have a positive first experience with the company. The HR Generalist will assist leaders and employees with the ITW performance management cycle, offering advice and coaching on goal setting, mid-year feedback, annual performance reviews, and compensation planning. Additionally, the role involves driving a positive organizational culture that emphasizes safety, enjoyment in the workplace, and teamwork across functions. The HR Generalist will also support a continual learning environment by creating, administering, and delivering training and development programs. Maintaining accurate employee-related data in HRIS and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations are also critical aspects of this position. The HR Generalist will respond to inquiries regarding benefit programs and policy administration, educating employees on the self-service applications available to them. Furthermore, the individual will be highly involved in managing the business unit's wellness program and community giving campaigns, and will serve as backup for bi-weekly payroll processing as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support hiring managers with recruiting processes including scoping roles, sourcing applicants, interviewing candidates, and complying with record keeping requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support on daily general employee relations issues and investigations.
  • Advise line management regarding the application of employment law and company policies to specific business decisions and performance management.
  • Organize, conduct, and continually improve new employee onboarding to create a positive first experience of the company.
  • Assist leaders and employees with the ITW performance management cycle, advising and coaching in areas of goal setting, mid-year feedback activities, annual performance review, and compensation planning process.
  • Drive positive organizational culture with emphasis on safety, fun in the workplace, and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Support continual learning environment through the creation, administration, and delivery of training and development programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee related data in HRIS and other applicable systems/files.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure compliance.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding benefit programs, policy administration, and educate employees in the use of self-service applications.
  • Manage business unit wellness program and community giving campaigns.
  • Serve as backup to bi-weekly payroll processing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or other related discipline required.
  • 2+ years relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • Professional HR Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and drive results.
  • Ability to adapt easily to change and perform calmly under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs.
