About the position

Prison Fellowship is seeking a dedicated and mission-focused Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Leesburg, VA. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive HR services and support across various functional areas, with a particular emphasis on employee onboarding, engagement, recruiting, wellness, and leave management. As a Christian non-profit organization, we are committed to transforming lives and supporting those affected by incarceration. The ideal candidate will not only possess the necessary HR skills but also align with our values and mission, maintaining an active relationship with Jesus Christ and supporting the ministry through prayer and actions. In this role, you will partner with the Senior Recruiting Manager to manage the full lifecycle of recruiting, which includes prescreening candidates, conducting employment checks, and overseeing onboarding assignments. You will also work closely with the Senior Benefits Counselor to assist with benefits administration and wellness initiatives, ensuring that our employees are well-supported in their health and well-being. Additionally, you will coordinate and facilitate various employee events throughout the year, such as new hire orientations, onboarding sessions, and recognition programs, fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will partner with the Manager of Human Resources on employee relations issues and assist with the administration of new hire and annual performance reviews. Your role will also involve providing administrative support for the overall HR function, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active relationship with Jesus Christ and support the ministry through prayer and actions
  • Partner with Senior Recruiting Manager to support full lifecycle recruiting including prescreening, employment checks, and onboarding assignments
  • Work closely with Senior Benefits Counselor to assist with benefits administration and wellness initiatives

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of HR experience
  • SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Zoom, Teams, ADP Workforce Now, and Applicant Tracking Software
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and able to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field and a good understanding of state and federal employment regulations
