About the position

The Human Resources Generalist position at Kellanova's Cary, NC Plant is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting the operational aspects of human resources. This role is integral to the Plant Operations and Human Resources teams, where you will utilize your attention to detail and multitasking abilities to strategize on operating plans that positively impact the bottom line. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for various HR functions, including reporting on HR metrics, maintaining personnel files, and administering leaves of absence. This position serves as an excellent entry point for a long-term career in Human Resources, with opportunities for advancement into management roles within the plants, corporate headquarters, or other departments based on individual interests. In this role, you will drive efficiency by contributing to the smooth operation of the plant and maintaining labor relations through accurate employee scheduling in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with Shift Operations to process production paperwork, conduct investigations, issue attendance disciplines, and research grievances and complaints. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will be essential in working with employees at all levels of the organization. This position requires flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Report on HR metrics as needed and perform personnel file maintenance.
  • Administer leaves of absence and ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Contribute to efficient operations by accurately scheduling employees according to collective bargaining agreements.
  • Partner with Shift Operations to process production paperwork and conduct investigations.
  • Issue attendance disciplines and research grievances and complaints.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior HR experience with strong knowledge of HR practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed.
