About the position

The HR Generalist at Dexter will play a crucial role in supporting the development, implementation, and execution of human resources policies, procedures, and programs. This position is essential in various HR functions, including performance management, employee benefits, compensation, employee relations, training and development, and succession planning. The HR Generalist will work closely with staff to ensure that HR programs are effectively communicated and adhered to, providing guidance and support in navigating HR-related issues. In this role, the HR Generalist will be responsible for planning, developing, reviewing, administering, and revising HR programs and policies. They will provide advice and counsel to staff on updating and interpreting these programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as OSHA and FMLA. Maintaining confidentiality of employee information and HR records is paramount, as is the ability to assist in identifying training needs related to HR programs. The HR Generalist will also develop and distribute HR training materials and communications to facilitate the launch of new initiatives within the organization. The position requires strong leadership skills, as the HR Generalist will lead interdepartmental teams to complete assigned projects efficiently and accurately. Acting as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors, the HR Generalist will also assist in the development and communication of legal and prudent HR policies. They will recommend new approaches and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and service delivery, while also providing training and support to employees on goal planning and the effective use of the performance management system. Overall, the HR Generalist will manage and execute assigned projects and perform other tasks as needed to support the HR function.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, reviews, administers and revises HR programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides advice and counsel to staff on updating and interpreting HR programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee information and HR records.
  • Assists in identifying training needs related to HR programs, including scheduling and facilitation.
  • Develops and distributes HR trainings and communications to launch new initiatives.
  • Leads interdepartmental teams to complete assigned projects on time and accurately.
  • Acts as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors.
  • Assists in the development and communication of legal and prudent HR policies.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvement.
  • Provides training and support on goal planning and performance management system.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Human Resources is a must.
  • Associate's Degree and 3 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of human resources experience in a manufacturing/plant environment is highly preferred.
