About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at KFI Engineers plays a pivotal role in supporting the organization's workforce by managing various HR functions and ensuring compliance with employment laws. This position is integral to maintaining accurate employee records, managing HRIS data, and overseeing HR documentation processes. The Generalist will audit and verify the accuracy of employee change requests, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and compliant with company policies. Additionally, the role involves providing backup support to payroll and benefits employees, as well as other HR functions, to ensure seamless operations within the department. As the first point of contact for employees, the Human Resource Generalist will address inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs, providing timely responses or redirecting concerns to the appropriate staff members. The Generalist will also be responsible for reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including safety training and professional licensure. Implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs will be key responsibilities, along with administering human resource programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, and employee morale. In addition to these duties, the Generalist will assist with Workers' Compensation cases, including filing First Injury Reports and communicating with claims adjusters. Investigating accidents and preparing reports for insurance carriers will also fall under this role. The Human Resource Generalist will maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regularly reviewing policies and practices to ensure adherence to best practices. This position will also involve managing external portals and safety programs, as well as responding to HR data requests from both internal and external customers. Overall, the Human Resource Generalist will contribute to fostering a positive work environment and supporting the overall mission of KFI Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Audit and verify accuracy of employee change requests.

  • Monitor and respond to inquiries in HR email inboxes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of computer technology and specific applications.

  • Knowledge of Deltek VantagePoint or similar project software.
