About the position

International Aerospace Coatings (IAC) is a growing thriving company, and we are looking for a Human Resource Generalist to support our newest facility in Portland, Oregon. The HR Generalist will support the business and management with day-to-day human resource-related operations in line with company and HR policies, procedures, operational and strategy objectives. This position is crucial as it focuses on ensuring that the employee's positive experience at work is key to success. Therefore, the HR Generalist must be strong in employee relations, working closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, engagement, morale, culture, and increase productivity and retention. The HR Generalist will be responsible for various functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, engagement, retention, communications, maintaining employee records and HR systems, HR reporting, administration of employee leave, and ensuring labor law compliance. This role requires a good work ethic and the ability to meet assigned responsibilities and deadlines. A strong knowledge of human resources best practices is essential, and a PHR certificate or equivalent is strongly preferred. The HR Generalist is a hands-on position and is responsible for delivering and supporting the implementation of new programs, policies, or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day human resource-related operations in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships and engagement.
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding processes for new employees.
  • Oversee performance management and employee relations initiatives.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer employee leave and ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Implement new HR programs, policies, or systems as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of human resources best practices.
  • Experience in employee relations and engagement strategies.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal leaves.
  • Ability to meet assigned responsibilities and deadlines.
  • PHR certificate or equivalent strongly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in payroll management.
  • Familiarity with HR reporting and analytics.
