About the position

Spherion Staffing LLC is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team in Gainesville, FL. This position is essential for assisting with a variety of human resources and administrative tasks at the Gainesville facility. The Human Resources Generalist will play a crucial role in collaborating with both internal and external business partners to ensure effective and efficient customer service. The role requires maintaining the application-tracking system and providing support for internet candidate searches, as well as managing the applicant database. The Generalist will also be responsible for preparing correspondence for candidates not selected for assessment, interview, or hire, and assisting with the scheduling of interviews and assessments for applicants. This includes observing interview panel activities for all initial employment and promotions, ensuring that these processes are conducted professionally and ethically. In addition to recruitment coordination, the Human Resources Generalist will complete pre-employment testing, background checks, and motor vehicle reports, as well as conduct reference checks. They will administer and coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation activities, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires. The role also involves managing employment termination processes and tracking the completion of necessary pre-employment checks. The Generalist will provide support to the Human Resources Director, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR department. The position is full-time, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The salary for this role is set at $23.77 per hour, with a range of $24.15 to $36.71 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to ensure effective and efficient customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, human resources, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of three years of professional human resources work experience, particularly in recruitment.
  • Knowledge of human resources administration practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of effective research techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing employee and labor relations and employee compliance.
  • Knowledge of recruitment, selection, hiring, training and development, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) management.
  • Considerable knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), HIPAA, Affordable Health Care, and other current Federal, State, and Local compliance.
