About the position

LifeWise Academy is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team at the Support Center in Hilliard, Ohio. This full-time position is pivotal in implementing HR strategies and processes that align with the goals of LifeWise Academy, which aims to reintegrate Bible education into public schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and will be instrumental in supporting a comprehensive range of human resources activities. This includes performance management, policy compliance, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and other related HR functional areas. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for mediating conflicts and disputes between employees, ensuring resolutions that align with the values and objectives of LifeWise Academy. You will also make recommendations regarding adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as LifeWise Academy policies and procedures. Addressing HR matters such as disciplinary actions, performance issues, and employee separations will be part of your role. Additionally, you will assist with the recruitment and selection process, which includes creating and updating job descriptions and providing accurate and timely advice throughout the phases of recruitment and selection. Your role will also involve participating in the implementation and integration of new policies, procedures, tools, and strategies that support LifeWise Academy's efforts to maintain a healthy and supportive workplace culture. You will ensure accountability to organizational values and ethical standards while performing other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Provide support on a comprehensive range of human resources activities, including performance management, policy compliance, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and other related HR functional areas.

Requirements

  • A mature personal Christian faith consistent with the LifeWise Statement of Faith.
  • 2+ years of experience as an HR professional.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or similar (preferred).
  • Experience working in a faith-based or nonprofit environment (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to facilitate critical conversations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • PHR or SPHR certification (preferred).
  • Proficient computer skills, including Google Workspace.

  • Experience working in a faith-based or nonprofit environment (preferred).
