About the position

The Human Resources Generalist position is an onsite role focused on administering HR policies and programs while balancing employee advocacy with business needs. The role involves providing comprehensive HR support to a designated client group, including recruitment, retention, performance management, and employee relations. The HR Generalist will ensure compliance with employment laws and promote positive employee relations, while also building relationships with business leaders to enhance organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Administer human resources policies and programs.
  • Promote equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations.
  • Provide comprehensive HR support to a designated client group.
  • Assist in recruitment and retention of critical talent.
  • Conduct performance coaching and management.
  • Identify and resolve HR-related issues proactively.
  • Build credible relationships with Business Leaders.
  • Communicate and execute changes to policies and procedures effectively.
  • Perform employee relations functions including counseling and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct employee-related investigations as necessary.
  • Handle workers' compensation and safety regulations processes.
  • Coordinate administration of Leave of Absence programs.
  • Conduct health and welfare benefits open enrollment meetings.
  • Conduct employee and supervisor training on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entries to the HRIS database.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll entry for designated client group.
  • Perform audit and compliance functions as requested.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Participate in various HR committees as needed.
  • Assist in management and execution of bonus plans and merit processes.
  • Assist in the annual budget planning process as needed.
  • Recruit and staff from internal and external sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of staffing and employment practices.
  • Analytical skills and consultative coaching skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR) preferred.
  • Knowledge of cable television products and services.
