About the position

As a Human Resources Generalist at Lundin Mining, you will play a pivotal role in the operational aspects of the HR function. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing and enhancing HR processes, as well as providing support to frontline managers in navigating self-service options, completing manual processes, and identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement. You will be instrumental in ensuring that the Eagle teams are well-supported, allowing them to concentrate on the organization's strategic initiatives and address pressing talent needs effectively. In this role, you will contribute to the development of Human Resources frameworks and tools that encompass various HR functions such as recruitment, performance management, employee development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, and diversity initiatives. You will ensure that all HR activities comply with internal policies and external legal requirements. Your responsibilities will also include managing the full cycle of recruitment activities, maintaining employment records, and facilitating new employee onboarding and orientation processes. Additionally, you will identify training needs, propose and organize training sessions, and deliver administrative support to both leaders and employees. You will also be responsible for offboarding activities and providing technical support and training for HRIS users. Your role will require you to prepare reports as needed and implement actions aimed at improving operational effectiveness and efficiency. As you develop your team, you will also train and coach direct reports, ensuring they are equipped to handle their responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the drafting of Human Resources frameworks and tools for various HR functions.
  • Enable the attraction, development, and retention of talent at a sustainable cost.
  • Manage the full cycle of recruitment activities.
  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
  • Oversee pre-employment activities, new employee onboarding, and orientation.
  • Identify, propose, organize, and deliver training based on needs and employee requests.
  • Handle offboarding activities.
  • Provide technical support and training for HRIS users.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Propose and implement actions to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Deliver transactional and administrative support to leaders and employees.
  • Train and coach direct reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • 5 years' experience with HR processes required.
  • 2-3 years' experience as a Supervisor preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels and develop usable programs and procedures.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
  • Experience with HRIS and enterprise software required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a mining or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) would be beneficial.
