About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Tanimura & Antle plays a crucial role in providing HR and Safety support to employees and management. This position ensures the effective implementation of HR and Safety policies, procedures, and programs while fostering strong relationships within the organization. The role involves conducting orientations, developing training materials, and addressing employee relations risks proactively.

Responsibilities

• Build strong positive relationships with employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Communicate and guide the application of human resources and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct new employee orientations, including compliance training and policy updates.
• Participate in developing human resources and safety training content and deliver training to employees.
• Identify potential employee relations risks and develop plans to address them proactively.
• Support labor recruitment, including internal and external job postings.
• Train managers and supervisors on state and federal employment law and best practices.
• Conduct investigations and ensure confidentiality in employee concerns.
• Lead incident investigations of workplace accidents and document findings.
• Keep accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field preferred.
• Three or more years of experience working in the human resources field.
• At least two years of experience in employee relations and compliance.
• Thorough understanding of applicable state and federal employment laws.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Human Resource systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified as PHR or SPHR.
• Familiarity with the H-2A Guest Worker program.
