In this role, the HR Generalist will act as the primary backup to the Corporate Recruiter, assisting in meeting all hiring needs. The position also involves handling all administrative tasks related to onboarding and new-hire orientations, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and conducting audits for accuracy and compliance. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR records is a critical responsibility, along with assisting in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook and directory. The HR Generalist will contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with employment laws, staying updated on legal changes and supporting the HR director and Senior HR Business Partner (SRHRBP) in implementing necessary changes in HR practices and policies. Additionally, participation in Employee Engagement Committee activities and administrative support for Employee Recognition Programs are part of the role's responsibilities. The HR Generalist will also perform other assignments as directed, showcasing their adaptability and resourcefulness in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary backup to the Corporate Recruiter to help meet all hiring needs.
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for a smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding and new-hire orientations, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain all HR records that are accurate and up to date with HR files and documents.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook and employee directory and contribute to policy development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on legal changes and support the director and SRHRBP in implementing necessary changes in HR practice and policies.
  • Participate in Employee Engagement Committee activities.
  • Assist with Human Resources Orientation.
  • Support administrative Employee Recognition Programs.
  • Perform other assignments as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field.
  • 4 years' experience in Human Resources.
  • Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Paycom is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of national laws and regulations related to employment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems when necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
