About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at Benjamin Moore & Co. will play a crucial role in supporting the HR Business Partner team within the Corporate or Supply Chain divisions. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities that are essential for the smooth operation of the HR department. The HR Generalist will be involved in various functions including recruitment, compliance, onboarding, offboarding, and employee recognition. The role requires a proactive approach to managing HR programs and ensuring that all HR processes align with company policies and legal requirements. In this position, the HR Generalist will assist in administering and supporting a variety of human resource programs. This includes recruitment efforts, managing compensation structures, overseeing performance and talent management processes, and addressing corrective action matters. The HR Generalist will also handle complaints and investigations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and facilitating employee recognition and engagement initiatives. The onboarding process is a key responsibility, where the HR Generalist will support new hires in the corporate supply chain and work closely with facility administrators to ensure compliance documentation is completed, including I-9 forms. Additionally, the HR Generalist will coordinate with supply chain site administrators to provide employee services related to benefits, diversity, equity, and inclusion events, and other HR efforts aimed at enhancing the employee experience. Offboarding processes will also fall under the purview of the HR Generalist, including conducting exit interviews, preparing transition letters, and supporting separated employees. The role requires gathering and analyzing HR metrics to track hiring timelines and employee turnover rates, as well as organizing performance reviews and maintaining job descriptions in a central repository. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for handling employment-related inquiries and ensuring that all data transactions are entered accurately for reporting purposes. This position will involve supporting HR communications and maintaining up-to-date information on the company intranet, as well as ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support various human resource programs including recruitment, compensation, performance and talent management, and compliance.
  • Support the onboarding process for employees and liaise with facility administrators for wage & hour employees.
  • Coordinate with supply chain site administrators to provide employee services related to benefits and diversity initiatives.
  • Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews and transition letters.
  • Complete questionnaires from Payroll for unemployment claims in coordination with the HRBP.
  • Prepare Leave of Absence and Accommodation Letters, track due dates, and manage follow-ups with employees.
  • Gather and analyze HR metrics to track time to hire and employee turnover rates.
  • Organize mid-year and annual employee performance reviews.
  • Format job descriptions and maintain a central repository for them.
  • Research HR topics, including trends and compliance updates, to streamline HR tasks.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex matters to appropriate HR personnel.
  • Ensure timely data entry for accurate reporting and generate reports from the HRIS system.
  • Support HR communications to employees and maintain the HR Department page on the company intranet.
  • Assist in the candidate selection process for associated teams.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legal postings across all sites.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends and best practices in human resources and employment law.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
