About the position

Herald Christian Health Center (HCHC) is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team in El Monte, CA. This full-time position is essential to our mission of providing quality and affordable holistic healthcare to low-income, uninsured, and medically indigent populations. The HR Generalist will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for a variety of HR functions, including provider credentialing, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, recruitment, and payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now (WFN). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, particularly within a healthcare setting, and will be interested in further developing their skills in this field. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in the credentialing of providers, which is a specialized function within health centers and hospitals. This position is part of a small HR department consisting of three members, allowing for close collaboration and mentorship opportunities. HCHC is a non-profit community clinic and a Federally Qualified Health Center serving the San Gabriel Valley and San Diego areas. With approximately 230 employees, we are committed to maintaining a positive and professional work environment that aligns with our core values. The HR Generalist will be expected to adhere to all HCHC policies and procedures while fostering a respectful and supportive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Credentialing of healthcare providers
  • Onboarding and employee orientation
  • Administration of employee benefits
  • Management of leave requests and policies
  • Recruitment of new employees
  • Processing payroll using ADP WFN

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred
  • 3-7 years of experience in HR work in a healthcare setting required
  • 3 years of experience in credentialing, privileging, and enrollment of providers required
  • Experience in a Community Health Center is preferred
  • Experience in maintaining employee health/personnel records required
  • PHR or equivalent certification is highly desired
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office and payroll software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is highly desired

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ADP payroll systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulations
  • Experience in employee relations and conflict resolution
