About the position

Condair Group, a global leader in humidification, dehumidification, and evaporative cooling, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support its expanding operations in Chester, Virginia. The Human Resources Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting both US and global HR initiatives, working closely with site management to address confidential HR matters and special projects. This position is integral to the recruitment process, employee relations, and the administration of HR policies and procedures. In this role, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for various key duties, including reviewing job descriptions, posting job ads, and training hiring managers on the use of hiring platforms. The individual will also conduct searches for suitable candidates, communicate with recruitment agencies, and schedule interviews. Additionally, the Generalist will assist in preparing employee offer letters and related documentation, ensuring that all processes are handled with accuracy and attention to detail. The Human Resources Generalist will also participate in the development and improvement of people management processes and HR technology projects. This includes creating and updating employee handbooks, driving special projects such as compensation benchmarking analysis, and supporting global HR initiatives. The role requires processing payroll, handling workers' compensation claims, and administering Condair's policies and procedures while providing guidance to managers and employees. The Generalist will assist in measuring HR-related statistics, such as leave time and turnover, and communicate HR-related updates to staff. Travel is expected to be approximately 20% of the time to support Condair's objectives across the USA, Canada, and potentially overseas.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with site Management to provide support on confidential human resource matters and special projects.
  • Review job descriptions and assist managers with documenting new positions as required.
  • Post job ads on all necessary platforms.
  • Train hiring managers on how to use hiring platforms to review candidates.
  • Use hiring platform to conduct searches for suitable candidates as needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate with recruitment agencies.
  • Schedule interviews for hiring managers and attend them as required.
  • Assist with preparation of employee offer letters and associated documents; distribute them to managers for signature; forward to candidate for review and signature.
  • Use applicant tracking system to manage candidate profiles.
  • Prepare employee-related documentation, such as pay increase letters, termination letters, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Participate in the development or improvement of people management processes and related HR technology projects.
  • Create and update employee handbooks and other related policies/manuals.
  • Drive special projects, such as compensation benchmarking analysis.
  • Support global HR initiatives.
  • Process payroll with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Handle workers' compensation claims by completing required documentation and submitting claims to relevant insurance companies.
  • Work with safety personnel and management to develop return-to-work programs.
  • Administer Condair's policies and procedures and provide guidance to managers and employees.
  • Assist in measurement of HR-related statistics, leave time, head count, turnover, etc.
  • Assist managers on a variety of employee relation topics.
  • Communicate with staff regarding HR-related updates.
  • Travel approximately 20% of the time to support other Condair objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in using HR software and applicant tracking systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
