About the position

The Human Resources Generalist position at First Brands Group, LLC is designed to provide a comprehensive range of HR support to site leadership under the guidance of the Human Resources Director. This role encompasses various HR functions including recruiting and retention, compensation, benefits administration, compliance, risk management, performance management, employee relations, safety, and maintaining HRIS integrity. The HR Generalist serves as a crucial advocate for both management and employees, interpreting and administering policies while helping to resolve work-related issues effectively. In this role, the HR Generalist will be responsible for developing and implementing recruiting and retention strategies, utilizing diverse sourcing methods to ensure that job descriptions remain current and relevant. The position requires consulting with employees and management on employee relations matters, demonstrating strong skills in addressing both minor and complex issues. The HR Generalist will manage the entire employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition to onboarding, training and development, performance management, coaching, and exits. A key aspect of this role is the ability to create and deliver strategies that promote an inclusive and cohesive workplace culture, fostering employee engagement and productivity. Additionally, the HR Generalist will manage workers' compensation claims processing, interpret and implement HR policies and procedures, and assist employees with group benefit programs. The role also involves managing leave of absence processes and providing guidance to site leadership. Maintaining daily HR activities in accordance with organizational expectations and ensuring HRIS data integrity are critical responsibilities. The HR Generalist will also assist in processing unemployment claims and will conduct investigations into complaints of harassment, discrimination, or other workplace issues, ensuring confidentiality throughout the process. This position requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding employee and company information, as well as the ability to assist with employee discipline and counseling when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruiting and retention strategies utilizing various sourcing methods.
  • Consult with employees and management on employee relations matters, addressing minor to complex issues.
  • Manage the entire employee lifecycle from talent acquisition to onboarding, training, development, performance, coaching, and exits.
  • Create and deliver strategies to promote an inclusive and cohesive workplace culture.
  • Manage workers' compensation claim processing and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Promote, enroll, and assist employees with group benefit programs.
  • Manage leave of absence processes and provide guidance to site leadership.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with processing unemployment claims and represent the company in related matters.
  • Conduct investigations into complaints of harassment, discrimination, or other workplace issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred.
  • Two to four years of Human Resource Specialist or related job experience required.
  • Experience in workers' compensation and risk management preferred.
  • Ability to develop recruiting and retention strategies, including reporting metrics to support key performance indicators.
  • Core understanding of human resource principles and advanced management theories.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), collaboration, and interpersonal skills with an ethical mindset.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve and resolve conflicts.
  • Extensive knowledge of HRIS database management and ATS (applicant tracking systems).
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State employment laws including OSHA.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office platform, project/task management, and advanced Excel skills required.
