The Village of Hanover Park is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $70,555 to $78,493 annually, translating to an hourly wage of $36.18 to $40.25. The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative and technical human resources functions that require a high degree of analysis, individual judgment in the absence of specific policies and/or guidance from superiors, and confidentiality. The role involves assisting the Human Resource Director in administering a comprehensive human resources program for the Village, which includes employee recruitment, selection, testing, job analysis, employee communication, benefits administration, worker's compensation, FMLA administration, compensation, training and development, and the development and implementation of personnel policies, procedures, and practices. The Human Resources Generalist will also ensure compliance with employment laws and manage labor relations. In addition to these responsibilities, the Human Resources Generalist will manage and administer human resources information systems (HRIS), develop and maintain the Human Resources internet and intranet websites, and assist with creating graphic designs, brochures, and presentations. The position requires participation in labor negotiation meetings, conducting exit interviews, and assisting in the development and review of job descriptions. The Generalist will also conduct municipal wage and benefit surveys and salary analysis, assist with employee training, and support the Human Resources Director with department budget preparation. Participation in professional associations and training events is encouraged to stay abreast of new trends in the field. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities, but it plays a crucial role in supporting the overall human resources functions of the Village. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, along with four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is preferred, and candidates should hold a valid Illinois driver's license and relevant HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
