The Human Resources Generalist position is a full-time remote role that reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. This role is pivotal in supporting the development and execution of various human resources functions and employee engagement strategies within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of HR activities, including talent acquisition, talent management, and the overall shaping of the organizational culture. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They will be proactive in anticipating the needs of both individuals and the organization, and will work to improve systems and processes that support the entire organization. In the realm of talent acquisition, the Human Resources Generalist will manage both internal and external job announcements in collaboration with the Communications team. They will assist the Director of Human Resources in sourcing candidates, conducting prescreen calls, and scheduling interviews and job assessments for various positions. Additionally, the role involves initiating education verification, reference checks, and background investigations through an employment screening services vendor. The Generalist will also oversee the new employee orientation process, ensuring that all new hire paperwork is processed and quality-checked. For talent management, the Generalist will administer the performance management lifecycle within the HRIS and oversee internship and Federal Work Study programs, including the application, interview, selection, and onboarding processes. They will manage employee offboarding, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete, and will communicate with all relevant departments to remove employees from data systems and conduct exit interviews. The Generalist will serve as a liaison between human resources, operations, and accounting teams, providing support for employee engagement activities that foster a culture of inclusiveness, such as events, training, professional development, and employee satisfaction surveys. Maintaining confidentiality and security of all employee and proprietary company information is crucial, and the Generalist will escalate issues to the Director of Human Resources as needed. They will also manage and maintain all employee files in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices for a remote team. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, including troubleshooting HRIS issues, providing backup support for benefits administration, managing HR-related inquiries, and completing monthly reconciliations and invoice submissions.
