About the position

The Human Resource Generalist will oversee the daily operations of the HR department, focusing on hiring, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. This role is essential in maintaining a productive workplace by ensuring that HR practices align with company policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Run the daily functions of the Human Resource department including hiring and interviewing staff.
• Administer pay, benefits, and leave.
• Enforce company policies and practices.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations.
• Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution and change reporting.
• Handle employee relations and maintain a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices.
• Process required paperwork for employee transfers, job classification changes, and salary increases.
• Assist with preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
• 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of HR functions and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective HR administration and people management skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
• Knowledge in DayForce.
