About the position

The HR Generalist position is responsible for administering human resources policies and programs while balancing employee advocacy with business needs. The role focuses on promoting equity, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and providing comprehensive HR support to a designated client group. Key aspects include recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and maintaining effective communication with business leaders to enhance organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Administer human resources policies and programs.
  • Promote equity and positive employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Provide HR support in recruitment and retention of talent.
  • Conduct performance coaching and management.
  • Identify and resolve HR-related issues proactively.
  • Build relationships with business leaders for better decision-making.
  • Communicate and execute changes to policies and procedures.
  • Perform employee relations functions including counseling and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct employee-related investigations as necessary.
  • Handle workers' compensation and safety regulations processes.
  • Coordinate Leave of Absence programs and processes.
  • Conduct health and welfare benefits open enrollment meetings.
  • Provide training for employees and supervisors on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entries to the HRIS database.
  • Perform audit and compliance functions as requested.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Participate in HR committees to resolve employment challenges.
  • Assist in managing bonus plans and merit processes.
  • Recruit and staff from internal and external sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of staffing and employment practices.
  • Analytical skills and consultative coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated PC skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR) preferred.
  • Knowledge of cable television products and services.
