About the position

The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the HR team by managing various HR functions, including benefits administration, employee assistance, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, analytical, and driven by processes and data.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate benefits processing, including enrollments, COBRA, and all benefit changes.
  • Prepare monthly benefits and Leave of Absence report for HR Manager review.
  • Distribute materials for benefits orientations and open enrollment and provide customer service support to employees.
  • Enforce the completion and thoroughness of all necessary requirements & documentations relating to the employees desired Leave of Absence.
  • Process all garnishment deductions and respond to Unemployment Insurance claims.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of all HR-related information.
  • Process termination process for eligible employees.
  • Enter compliance information into software system HCHB and track ongoing compliance via reporting tools.
  • Assist the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS system (Empeon or HHA Exchange a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Completes work and documentation with accuracy and within agency time frames.
  • Highly motivated and can work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to keep & protect confidential information.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
