About the position

Crown Staffing is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support HR functions at a local manufacturing company in McCalla, AL. This role is crucial for managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations, all aimed at fostering a positive work environment aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and manage the full recruitment cycle.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local educational institutions and recruitment agencies.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, mediating and resolving conflicts and grievances.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems and provide guidance on performance-related issues.
  • Support the identification of training needs and coordinate training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies, and assist in developing HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Support the administration of payroll and benefits programs, assisting employees with inquiries and enrollment processes.
  • Conduct market research to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Collaborate with safety teams to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with union negotiations or labor relations.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
