About the position

The Human Resources Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support and advice to staff, playing a crucial role in the organization's success. This position involves executing daily HR functions such as recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws, while fostering positive relationships between personnel and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with 8+ years' experience in Human Resources.
  • Associates degree with 3+ years' experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field with 1-2 years' experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience with HRIS and talent management systems (Paycom).

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in both verbal and written communication in Spanish.
