About the position

Episcopal Children's Services (ECS) is seeking a dedicated HR Employee Experience Specialist to enhance the overall employee experience within ECS4Kids. This full-time position is based in Gainesville, Florida, and requires travel throughout Alachua and surrounding counties. The HR Employee Experience Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive work culture and improving employee engagement, which is essential for the success of ECS's mission to help underserved children in Northeast and Central Florida build a solid foundation for educational success. In this role, the HR Employee Experience Specialist will develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement. This includes conducting regular surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee sentiment and identify areas for improvement. The specialist will manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job postings and candidate screenings to interviews and job offers, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new hires. Additionally, the specialist will act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures while mediating conflicts and grievances in a fair manner. The position also involves ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, assisting in the implementation and communication of HR policies, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant employment regulations. The HR Employee Experience Specialist will support performance management processes, including performance reviews and employee development plans, while enhancing internal communication channels to keep employees informed and engaged. Participation in HR projects related to employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and diversity and inclusion efforts will also be part of the role. The specialist will serve as a subject matter expert on HR issues, advising management on best practices for risk management and compliance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement initiatives to foster a positive work culture and improve employee engagement.

  • Mediate and resolve conflicts and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Support performance management processes, including performance reviews and employee development plans.
  • Enhance internal communication channels to ensure employees are informed and engaged with company updates.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs and diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on HR issues, providing guidance and support to staff across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or HR certification required.
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role, with a solid understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Empathetic, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with HR software, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Upholding high ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive information, and using thoughtful professional judgement.
