About the position

Vacatia is an innovative hospitality company that is redefining the timeshare experience through a customer-centric approach. The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the corporate HR functions for Vacatia, Inc. and its entities. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and fostering a positive workplace culture. The HR Generalist will work closely with the corporate HR Director to manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring that all HR-related inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately. This role is pivotal in building strong business relationships with internal clients and proactively identifying areas for improvement within the HR framework. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing and assigning JIRA tickets, following up with HR and payroll team members to ensure timely completion of tasks. They will act as the primary point of contact for team members regarding HR-related questions and will assist in the administration of HR documentation and records. This includes managing FMLA/LOA, workers' compensation, and unemployment administration, as well as providing policy and procedure guidance to both internal and external clients. The role also involves assisting with recruitment and employment references, ensuring that the company maintains a high standard of employee relations and compliance with federal and state employment laws. In addition to these responsibilities, the HR Generalist will monitor the company culture and assist in implementing changes necessary to mitigate risks and enhance employee satisfaction. The position is fully remote, requiring the individual to be available during regular business hours and possess a stable, high-speed internet connection. The HR Generalist must be capable of performing their duties independently while also being an effective team player, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with corporate HR Director on day-to-day HR operations
  • Manage and assign all JIRA tickets, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Act as point of contact for team members for any HR related questions
  • Proactively support the delivery of HR processes
  • Build strong business relationships with internal clients
  • Identify gaps and propose changes to cover risks
  • Assist in performance improvement and enforce positive change
  • Monitor company culture
  • Administer HR related documentation and maintain HR records
  • Manage FMLA/LOA, workers comp & unemployment administration
  • Provide policy and procedure guidance to internal and external clients
  • Assist in benefit administration, including health and retirement
  • Responsible for management reporting and updating HR and payroll systems
  • Lead administrative functions related to HR/payroll
  • Assist with recruitment and employment references
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of generalist experience for a multi-State employer
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, multi-State and local employment laws
  • Prior experience with all levels of employee relations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build long-term business relationships
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task
  • High level of confidentiality and trustworthiness
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fluent in English with good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient with HRIS/payroll software, preferably Paylocity
