About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Centers Plan for Healthy Living is responsible for supporting the HR team with various administrative duties related to benefits and leave administration, employee assistance, and special assignments. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a process-driven mindset to ensure compliance and effective HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate benefits processing, including enrollments, COBRA, and all benefit changes.
  • Prepare monthly benefits and Leave of Absence report for HR Manager review.
  • Distribute materials for benefits orientations and open enrollment and provide customer service support to employees to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Enforce the completion and thoroughness of all necessary requirements & documentations relating to the employees desired Leave of Absence.
  • Process all garnishment deductions and respond to Unemployment Insurance claims.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of all HR-related information.
  • Process termination process for eligible employees.
  • Enter compliance information into software system HCHB and track ongoing compliance via reporting tools.
  • Assist the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS system (Empeon or HHA Exchange a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Must be able to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Completes work, and documentation with accuracy and within agency time frames.
  • Highly motivated and can work without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to keep & protect confidential information.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
