About the position

Join Shearer's as a Human Resources Generalist at our Waterford Plant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our daily HR operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for onboarding new employees, managing payroll, and fostering positive employee relations. Your efforts will help create an engaging workplace culture, where snacks are always within reach! You will serve as the go-to expert for company policies and practices, ensuring that our workforce is well-informed and compliant with all regulatory requirements, including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA. In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with Talent Acquisition to manage headcount and support the business's needs. You will also design and implement effective onboarding and training programs for new hires, ensuring they feel welcomed and prepared to contribute to our success. Additionally, you will lead our Retention, Rewards, and Recognition Employee Involvement Teams, driving initiatives that promote employee engagement and satisfaction. Your responsibilities will extend to counseling line management and associates on company policies and procedures, as well as overseeing administrative processes related to data management, compensation, and benefits administration. You will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring that our HR practices align with both company values and legal standards. Responsibilities

  • Support daily HR operations including onboarding, payroll, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Drive an engaged culture through positive interactions with the hourly workforce.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for company policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to manage headcount and support business needs.
  • Create and lead effective new hire onboarding and training programs.
  • Champion Retention, Rewards, and Recognition Employee Involvement Teams.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.
  • Counsel line management and associates on company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee administrative processes around data management, compensation, and benefits administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead with empathy and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM or HRCI certifications.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably ADP.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and establish trust with employees and management.
